Terms of Service

01 Agreement to these terms

In shortCreating an account, or using the site, means you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Shadi Markaz.

By registering, signing in, purchasing a plan, making a reservation or otherwise using the Service at shadimarkaz.com, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of a marriage bureau or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf.

03 Who can use ShadiMarkaz

In shortYou must be 18 or older, legally free to marry and genuinely looking for a spouse.

To use the Service, or to be listed on it, you must:

• be at least 18 years old;
• be legally able to marry under the laws that apply to you;
• be using the Service for the sincere purpose of finding a marriage partner, for yourself or, with their consent, for a family member or bureau client;
• not have been previously removed from Shadi Markaz, unless we have given you written permission to return; and
• hold only one personal account.

Parents, siblings and relatives may create and manage a profile for an adult family member only with that person’s knowledge and agreement.

04 Your account and security

In shortKeep your password private, keep your details accurate and tell us straight away about any unauthorised use.

• Provide accurate, current and complete information, and update it when it changes.
• Confirm your email address to activate your profile.
• Keep your password confidential and do not share your account. You are responsible for activity that happens under it.
• Tell us immediately at info@shadimarkaz.com if you suspect someone else has accessed your account.

For your protection, we may temporarily lock an account after repeated failed sign-in attempts or suspicious activity.

05 Profiles, photos and your content

In shortYou own your content. You give us permission to display it so the Service can work, and you promise it is truthful and yours to share.

You keep ownership of the content you post. By posting it, you grant Shadi Markaz a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, resize, display and distribute it for the purpose of operating, improving and promoting the Service, in line with your privacy settings. This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account, except for copies already shared with other members, content we must keep by law, and reasonable backup periods.

Photo guidelines

• Upload only recent photos of yourself, or of your client with their consent.
• Photos must be decent, respectful and appropriate for a family matrimonial platform.
• Do not upload photos of other people, children, celebrities or images you do not have the right to use.

We may review, refuse or remove any content that breaks these Terms, without notice.

06 Member conduct and prohibited use

In shortBe honest and respectful. Scams, harassment, fake profiles and commercial misuse are not allowed.

When using Shadi Markaz you must not:

• create a fake profile, impersonate another person or misrepresent your age, marital status, religion, education, income or intentions;
• harass, threaten, abuse, stalk, blackmail or intimidate anyone, or share sexual, obscene, hateful or discriminatory content;
• ask other members for money, gifts, financial or banking details, or promote any investment, loan or scheme;
• share another member’s photos, messages or personal information outside the Service without their permission;
• use the Service for dating unrelated to marriage, escort services, advertising, spam or recruitment of any kind;
• scrape, copy or harvest profiles or data by bots, scripts or other automated means;
• try to bypass plan limits, privacy settings, blocks or security features, or interfere with the operation of the Service; or
• break any law that applies to you or to us, including cybercrime, privacy and harassment laws in your country (such as Pakistan's Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, where we are based).

07 Verification and safety

In shortWe work hard to keep members safe, but we cannot confirm every detail. Always do your own checks before making any commitment.

We confirm email addresses, moderate bureaus, mark some profiles as verified and act on member reports. However, we do not run criminal background checks, and we cannot guarantee the identity, intentions, character or statements of any member. You are responsible for your own interactions.

08 Membership plans, payments and refunds

In shortYou see the price, duration and features before you pay. Plans are generally non-refundable once activated, except in the cases listed below.

• Basic registration is free. Paid plans for members and bureaus, their prices, durations and features are shown on our Plans page and may change over time. Changes do not affect a plan you have already paid for.
• Prices are charged in the currency shown on the Plans page, and include or exclude applicable taxes as shown before you pay.
• A plan starts when your payment has been received and confirmed, and ends at the end of its stated period. Unused contacts or features do not carry over, unless the plan says so.
• A plan is for your own account and cannot be transferred, shared or resold.

Refunds

Because premium features become available as soon as a plan is activated, fees are non-refundable, except where: you were charged twice or by mistake; the plan could not be activated because of a fault on our side; or a refund is required by law. To request a refund, contact us within 14 days of payment with your transaction reference. Accounts suspended or closed for breaking these Terms are not entitled to a refund.

09 Additional terms for marriage bureaus

In shortBureaus must have each client’s consent, keep client details accurate and act professionally with members.

• You must be a genuine matrimonial business and provide accurate business and contact details.
• You must obtain each client’s informed consent before creating their profile, and remove it promptly when they ask or when they are no longer your client.
• You are responsible for checking that every client is at least 18, free to marry and correctly described.
• Messages and interests sent to your clients are routed to you, and you must respond honestly and professionally.
• You are the independent controller of your clients’ data outside Shadi Markaz and must comply with applicable data protection laws.
• You must not charge members hidden fees through the Service or use member data for any purpose other than matchmaking for your clients.

We may review, suspend or remove any bureau, or its clients’ profiles, that does not meet these standards.

10 Wedding halls and event services

Shadi Markaz helps you find and reserve wedding halls and related event services. Reservations depend on the venue’s availability and are subject to the venue’s own pricing, deposit and cancellation policies, which are shown or confirmed at the time of booking. Unless we clearly state otherwise, the venue is responsible for providing its services, and any dispute about the event itself is between you and the venue, although we will try to help resolve it.

11 Reports, moderation and enforcement

You can block any member and report profiles, photos or messages that break these Terms. Our team reviews reports and may take action proportionate to the issue, including a warning, removing content, restricting features, verifying details, or suspending or closing an account. Where there is a risk of harm or a possible crime, we may preserve information and share it with the relevant authorities.

12 Our intellectual property

The Shadi Markaz name, logo, website design, software, text and graphics (excluding member content) belong to Shadi Markaz or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may use the Service for its intended personal purpose only, and you may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from it without our written permission.

13 Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we do not promise that the Service will always be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not guarantee that you will find a match, receive a proposal or get married. Match percentages and suggestions are for guidance only. We are not responsible for the conduct, statements or content of members, bureaus or venues, whether online or offline.

14 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shadi Markaz and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service or your dealings with other members, bureaus or venues. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud.

15 Indemnity

You agree to compensate Shadi Markaz for reasonable losses, costs and legal fees that arise from your breach of these Terms, your content, or your misuse of the Service, including claims made by other members.

16 Closing or suspending accounts

In shortYou can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms.

You can close your account at any time from your dashboard. We may suspend, restrict or close your account, with or without notice, if you break these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably believe your use puts other members or Shadi Markaz at risk. Sections that by their nature should continue after closure, including content licences already granted, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law, will continue to apply.

17 Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. If a dispute arises, please contact us first. We will try in good faith to resolve it informally within 30 days. If it cannot be resolved, the courts at Pakistan will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights you have in the country where you live.

18 Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms to reflect new features, legal requirements or feedback. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, notify you by email or through your dashboard before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you can close your account.

19 General provisions

• Entire agreement: these Terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Shadi Markaz about the Service.
• Severability: if any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
• No waiver: if we do not enforce a right straight away, we do not give it up.
• Assignment: you may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours as part of a reorganisation, merger or sale.
• Language: these Terms are written in English. If we provide a translation and there is a difference, the English version applies.
